After five years of planning and renovations, we opened our 16th Street Chocolate Factory in 2019. The century-old brick building, converted from a former print shop, covers almost a city block near the north edge of San Francisco’s Mission District. Inside, visitors inhale the heady scent of molten chocolate, hear cocoa beans rattle and roast, watch chocolate makers in action, sift handfuls of dried beans, and sample every form of cocoa product — from tangy fresh cacao fruit to smooth finished chocolate. Our 16th Street Factory is the new heart of Dandelion chocolate making, where single-origin cocoa beans become two-ingredient chocolate.
Bloom Has Reopened
We’re excited to let you know that we are officially open. Come visit us and enjoy exclusive menu items, such as chocolate-almond Babka French Toast; a freshly baked chocolate Soufflé topped with house-made cocoa-nib ice cream; and much more. We also offer plenty of drinks (wine and beer list coming soon!), and a Fruit-to-Bonbon Self-Guided Tasting experience. Available for walk-ins or contact Guest Care to reserve for private parties.
Café & Pastries
Our Kitchen team bakes fresh cookies and pastries from our single-origin chocolate each day. We also offer made-to-order hot chocolates, Ritual coffee drinks, frozen hot chocolate, horchata, and more.
Tours & Classes
Join a lively tour of our active bean-to-bar chocolate factory, featuring a guided walk-through of our chocolate-making process, and taste your way through fresh cacao pods, roasted cocoa beans, molten chocolate, and finished single-origin chocolate bars.
Made-to-Order Cakes
(local pickup only)
Chef Lisa’s cakes are exceptional. With five days’ notice, Lisa and her team will hand-craft a cake for your special occasion. Choose a vibrant seasonal cake made with locally sourced ingredients, or our signature Chocolate Caramel Celebration Cake, embellished with chocolate mirror glaze, organic edible flowers, and cocoa nibs (a birthday tradition for many!). Cakes may be ordered online and scheduled for pickup at our 16th Street factory.
