Spring Celebration Cake

Baked fresh to order, serves 8-10 people

As we emerge from winter, daylight lingers a bit longer in the evenings, and we begin to see our first beautiful, sunny weekends. Magnolias blossom in Golden Gate Park, and just-picked berries glow at farmers’ markets across the City. 

To capture some of the lightness of springtime, we infuse fresh-strawberry cream with delicate, citrus-floral notes of lemon verbena. The cream is layered with our signature Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate cake, and the elegant dome is finished with a burnt-honey Swiss-meringue buttercream, for a cake that's perfect to celebrate the blooming season.

How to Order for Pickup

  1. At checkout choose your desired pickup date and time.
  2. We’ll notify you when your order is ready to pickup with more information about where to go and where to park.
  3. Stop by our café at our 16th Street Factory in the Mission District and pick up your order.

Cake: organic cane sugar, all-purpose flour, butter, eggs, crème fraîche, 100% chocolate (cocoa beans from Camino Verde, Ecuador), vanilla extract, baking soda, instant espresso

Bavarian cream: Strawberry purée, organic cane sugar, eggs, salt, gelatin, cream, dried lemon verbena

Burnt-honey buttercream: honey, organic cane sugar, egg whites, butter, salt

Storage instructions:

This 8-inch cake serves eight to 10, and is best enjoyed within one week. 

Please keep refrigerated, and bring to room temperature about 20 to 30 minutes before enjoying.
