Bloom Cake

When we reopened Bloom — our Paris-inspired 16th Street chocolate salon — in 2023, Lisa created a specialty cake for the inaugural menu, and it immediately became a guest favorite.  To celebrate summer, Lisa and her team are baking their tall, layered Bloom Cake for pre-order local pickup. The classic cake, a vehicle for our fruity 70% Ambanja, Madagascar chocolate, features six light, tender layers of yellow buttermilk cake, heaped with silky, gently tangy, chocolate crème fraîche frosting. You won't want to miss this seasonal, picnic-perfect delight.

Cakes are made to order, and require 48-hour advance ordering (for pickup Monday through Saturday).

This 9-inch cake serves 8 to 10, and is best enjoyed within one week. Keep refrigerated, and bring to room temperature about 20 to 30 minutes before consuming.
