For our original house-made chocolate-nut spread, we pair our fudgy Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate with toasted hazelnuts grown in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Made with only four ingredients — and no added cocoa powder or emulsifiers — this nostalgia-inducing treat has an irresistible balance of nuttiness and chocolatiness, with velvety spreadability.
The classically chocolatey notes of Camino Verde beans blend beautifully with the roastiness of hazelnuts; and a touch of locally hand-crafted La Tourangelle hazelnut oil enhances the spread’s nutty aroma and incredibly smooth texture. Since our spread is made with just chocolate, hazelnuts, sugar, and hazelnut oil, it’s a bit firm at room temperature, then melts like a dream on freshly toasted brioche, bagels, waffles, or croissants. We love it with ice cream, fresh fruit, and stirred into hot chocolate, as well as straight from the jar!
