Dandelion Chocolate’s 2024 Advent Calendar
Featuring 25 Chocolatiers from Across the Country, Celebrating the Stars with Daily Unveiling Videos from Esteemed Astronomer
San Francisco, CA (July 25, 2024) – Now in its ninth year, Dandelion Chocolate’s Advent Calendar is a celebratory tribute to craft chocolate and celestial wonders of the night sky. The Calendar features bonbons, truffles, caramels, dragées, and additional chocolate surprises crafted by twenty-five of the most innovative chocolatiers from coast to coast.
This year’s theme honors the winter of 2024’s peak northern lights, while capturing tales of ancient characters outlined in constellations overhead. Each chocolate-filled box, which doubles as a tree ornament, aligns with a nightly celestial event. The Calendar's accompanying booklet reveals myth, history, and science behind each event — with intricate, old-world style illustrations by Serbian artist Srdjan Vidakovic, and expertise in the form of daily unveiling videos from astronomer Dr. Tyler Nordgren. The Calendar also details twenty-five of the northern hemisphere’s darkest viewing locations, from which one might catch a glimpse of the ethereal aurora borealis. An illustrated Star Planisphere aids in locating stars in the night sky.
The twenty-five acclaimed confectioners were chosen across fifteen states and one Canadian province. Contributors were selected via an open call, followed by multiple rounds of tasting, culminating in a final blind tasting of over sixty chocolate creations. Selected artisans include both up-and-coming confectioners and award-winning chocolatiers.

Cost & Details
The Advent Calendar for One is $185, while the Advent Calendar for Two is $295 (for the latter, each ornament box contains two portions of that date’s treat). Every calendar includes an informative, illustrated booklet & nightly viewing guide; a Star Planisphere; and exclusive access to Dr. Tyler Nordgren’s daily advent unveiling videos. Calendars will ship in November to arrive in time for December 1st.
